The FOODSAFE program was developed to help food handlers prevent food borne illness. Level 1 is designed for anyone who works in the food service industry. It explains correct food handling procedures that reduce the risk of food borne illness and includes safe work habits in the food industry.

On September 23rd at 1:00 p.m. there will be a climate change presentation by Brian Gordon at the South End Hall (please note change of venue). This event, co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, GIRR and the Galiano Conservancy, is a follow up to the showing of the film, “An Inconvenient Truthâ€. This promises to be an interesting, lively event. Brian has studied with Al Gore and will bring his own slide show to present. There will be an opportunity for questions and to discuss what we can do as a community. See you on the 23rd!
